Lack of self esteem and confidence is a major problem for many people and how we feel about ourselves ripples out into every area of our lives. You may need confidence for a special event or situation such as an exam, driving test, interview or speaking for a one-off situation such as a wedding speech. Once I have a true understanding of your feelings and concerns this can usually be dealt with quite quickly and easily.

We are all affacted by loss throughout our lives and it is something that some of us deal with better than others. The stages of grief we normally go through are shock, seperation and pain, despair, acceptance followed by resolutiin and reorganisation. The time it takes us to work through these phases varies depending on the type of loss, the emotional attachment to the thing that we have lost, the support we have, the past experience of loss, our state of mental health and any other losses that happen as a result of that loss. Hypnosis can be used to assist you with your reaction to grief. It can also be used as a tool for coming to terms with the emotions that you are feeling, accessing those emotions and releasing emotions locked in by past experiences.

Pain is used by the body as a warning that all is not right within our physical body and sometimes more covertly in our emotional selves.

Acute pain usually results from disease, inflammation or injury. It will generally come on suddenly and be accompanied by anxiety or emotional distress.

Chronic pain persists over a longer period of time and can deeply effect our productivity and our mobility as well as our mental and emotinal health.

Hypnosis can be used to help both types of pain by helping you  control and contain the amount of pain you can stand.  The use of relaxation techniques can assist your ability to deal with the pain and the reduction of anxiety helps further.

 

We define a phobia as an irrational fear of something, it is not as such an illness or a lack of will power as it stems from our subconscious but it can be treated. Many of our phobias are acute fears. The treatmeant is usually based around you experiencing in your imagination the thing that makes you feel fearful but with a sense of control. It can help you reduce the real feelings of fear and put your fear into perspective and enable you to experience the reality and not the irrationality of the situation.

 

Feelings of stress come from any situation in which we feel frustrated, angry or anxious.

Much of the treatment for stress will revolve around helping you to learn to realx and also to learn some triggers that will assist you to deal with the physical symptoms of the condition. The therapeutic process will also serve to empower you to make the changes that you need to make in your life. 

Feelings of anxiety come from apprehention or fear, the source of which is not always recognisable. In order to treat your anxiety I would help you realise your syptoms can be relieved and you can learn how to deal with them.

 

Losing weight can seem like a constant battle for some of us.

There are a few main reasons why we overeat. I will help you identify the reason why and then work out an individual plan for you.

A habit is something that we do without thinking about it.

Some habits can be detrimental to us, such as comfort eating, smoking when we feel stressed or shouting at others when we feel sad. 

You may want to break an obvious habit such as nail biting.  These habits are being run from the subconsious, hypnotherapy is an ideal tool to help you effect change.
